March 2008
Ma’an Development Company was established in March 2008 as a private shareholding company founded by the Southern Company for Development and Construction, wholly owned by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, in partnership with the Jordan Industrial Estates Company and Al-Hussein Bin Talal University.

Since its establishment, MDC has overseen the transformation of Ma’an Development Area from a long-term development vision into an active economic destination. Over the years, its role has expanded across industrial development, renewable energy, community planning, skills development, and the creation of new opportunities for businesses and local residents.
